Yandex caps hourly tests for free COVID-19 test on heavy demand

MOSCOW, Apr 21 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex has restricted receipt of applications for free coronavirus testing per hour due to heavy demand, a company official told PRIME on Tuesday.

“Since yesterday we’ve been getting a large number of applications for free testing, tens of new forms every minute. This is why we can exhaust the daily number of tests and capacities to process them in the laboratories within an hour. This is why we’ve limited the number of applications accepted every hour of the service’s work,” the spokesperson said.

The hourly limit will rise as laboratories’ capacities grow.

Yandex said on Monday that it made COVID-2019 testing at home free for Russians of any age thanks to social project Help Nearby.
